Tucked into the forest and perched above a cascading creek, this nearly 2,000-square-foot modern retreat feels like a treehouse suspended in nature. Designed in collaboration with architect Chris Hunter of HunterOffice, the home was carefully positioned to take full advantage of expansive views of Howe Sound. Elevated on structural stilts, the residence seemingly floats over the terrain, allowing natural light, gardens, and courtyards to surround the interior spaces and provide seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Inside, the home offers an open and thoughtfully composed layout featuring two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a basement-level artist studio or guest suite complete with a kitchenette. The central courtyard anchors the living space, complemented by a wood-burning fireplace and floor-to-ceiling glazing throughout. A palette of natural and durable materials—including vertical cedar siding, 1-1/2" standing seam steel roofing, polished concrete, and heated oak flooring—enhances the home’s connection to its rugged surroundings. Bold and inviting, Copper Drive is a home designed to live lightly and beautifully in its environment—on stilts.
